HAPPENING NOW | Regional Career Development Support Forum

Around 70 career guidance counselors and advocates from across Eastern Visayas gather today, October 26, at Fan’s Hotel in Palo, Leyte, for the Regional Career Development Support Forum organized by DOLE Regional Office No. VIII.
In her Welcome Remarks, Regional Director Imelda E. Romanillos emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing career development initiatives, underscoring that “DOLE cannot do it alone.”
Mr. Primo Regis Jr. of Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Mr. Raymond Campo of Department of Science and Technology (DOST), graced the forum and delivered messages of support, reaffirming their continued commitment as DOLE’s partner agencies in advancing the Career Development Support Program.
Two significant highlights of the forum are the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Officers of the Eastern Visayas Network of Career Guidance Counselors and Advocates and the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing for the Establishment of Job Placement Offices in 15 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Technical-Vocational Institutions in western part of Leyte and Eastern Samar.
These milestones reinforce the shared commitment of DOLE, educational institutions, and career guidance advocates to strengthen career guidance services, bridge the gap between education and employment, and expand access to decent and sustainable job opportunities for the people of Eastern Visayas.
Through stronger partnerships and coordinated efforts, DOLE-RO8 continues to advance career development initiatives that help individuals make informed career choices and prepare for the changing world of work.
This initiative also reflects DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino’s call for stronger collaboration and partnerships in advancing the Department’s employment and workforce development agenda.
Also present during the event were OIC-Assistant Regional Director Martin T. Jequinto, Technical Support Services Division Chief Virgilio A. Doroja, Jr., and Heads of Field Offices.
