Employment Contract Verification is a government service that reviews and authenticates the employment contract of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) to ensure that it complies with Philippine labor laws and the minimum standards set for overseas employment.
This service is administered by the Department of Migrant Workers through its Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs) abroad.
The verification process ensures that:
- The employer and job offer are legitimate
- Salary, benefits, and working conditions meet minimum standards
- The terms and conditions protect the worker’s rights and welfare
- The contract is consistent with approved job orders
Employment Contract Verification is typically required for:
- Direct-hired workers
- OFWs changing employers abroad
- Workers renewing or extending contracts
A verified contract is necessary before the issuance of an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) and serves as official proof that the worker’s overseas employment is lawful and properly documented.
