๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐ – Strengthening the regionโs workforce development through a convergence of innovation and ethical leadership, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. VIII (DOLE-RO8), in collaboration with the PESO Managers Association of Eastern Visayas (PESOMAEV) Inc., successfully conducted the 2025 PESO Year-End Performance Assessment (PESO-YEPA) cum Regional PESO Congress on March 5-6, 2026 at the FANS Hotel, Palo, Leyte.
With the theme, โAdvancing Regional Employment Services Through Ethical Governance, Policy Excellence, and Digital Innovationโ, the event was participated by around 300 PESO Managers, Job Placement Officers, Local Chief Executives, DOLE-RO8 Officials and employees from across Eastern Visayas. Regional Director Atty. Dax B. Villaruel led the festivities with his welcome remarks, noting the PESO Managers and Job Placement Officers of Eastern Visayas continue to serve as the frontliners in employment facilitation.
โYour role in guiding our youth, assisting displaced workers, and providing pathways for vulnerable sectors toward productive and decent work, is truly importantโ, said Villaruel.
The PESO congress featured plenary sessions led by esteemed experts, Mr. Ponciano Magsayo Ligutom, former DOLE Regional Director and Labor Attachรฉ, and former DOLE Assistant Secretary Katherine Brimon, from the International Labour Organization, challenging the participants to uphold transparency and accountability in governance and to adapt and maximize technological advancements.
Also present during the annual event were the PESOMAEV Officers headed by its President, Mr. Norman Victor M. Ordiz; DOLE-RO8 Assistant Regional Director Atty. Joan N. Noya-Nidua, DOLE-Technical Support Services Division Chief Mr. Virgilio A. Doroja, Jr. and the Heads of the different DOLE Field Offices.
