ππππππππ ππππ β 160 jobseekers were hired on the spot (HOTS) during the Trabaho Agad Job Fairs spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 (DOLE-RO8) in celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day.
The Trabaho Agad job fairs, conducted on June 11, 2026 in Catarman, Northern Samar, and on June 12, 2026 in Tacloban City, and Sogod, Southern Leyte, attracted 1,389 registered jobseekers seeking employment opportunities from participating local and overseas employers.
Of the total HOTS, 85 were recorded in Tacloban City, 66 in Catarman, Northern Samar, and nine in Sogod, Southern Leyte. Successful applicants were immediately hired for various positions, including ESL teachers, cashiers, service crew personnel, technicians, sales assistants, and maintenance staff.
Among those hired on the spot was Marian Ruth Antoni of Alangalang, Leyte, who expressed her gratitude after successfully securing employment during the job fair.
βMalaking tulong ang trabahong ito para matulungan ko ang aking pamilya lalo na ang aking nakababatang kapatid na makapagtapos ng pag-aaral,β Antoni shared.
The successful conduct of the Trabaho Agad Job Fairs reflects DOLE’s continuing commitment, under the leadership of Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, to create more pathways to employment, strengthen partnerships with employers, and ensure that more Filipinos gain access to meaningful and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
