𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐁𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office VIII (DOLE RO VIII) conducted the final deliberation for the 2025 Search for Best Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on July 7, 2026, at the Ironwood Hotel, bringing together Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) from across Eastern Visayas for the validation and evaluation of their accomplishments.
The activity formed part of the regional selection process to determine Eastern Visayas’ official nominees to the national Search for Best PESO, which recognizes exemplary Public Employment Service Offices for their performance in delivering employment facilitation programs and services.
The deliberation was chaired by DOLE RO VIII OIC-Regional Director Atty. Joan N. Noya-Nidua. Joining the evaluation panel were Mr. Virgilio A. Doroja Jr., Head of the Technical Support Services Division; Mr. Norman Victor M. Ordiz, President of the Public Employment Service Office Managers Association of Eastern Visayas, Inc. (PESOMAEV); Ms. Karmela G. De La Sierra, Regional Employment Focal Person; Mr. Rainier Dale D. Ortega, Media Representative; and Mr. Elli Resti De Paz, representative of the Workers’ Organization.
In her opening message, Atty. Joan N. Noya-Nidua encouraged the participating PESOs to regard the evaluation as an opportunity to demonstrate their accomplishments, exchange good practices, and continue improving the quality of employment services delivered to their respective communities. She also acknowledged the sustained efforts of PESO Managers and their local government units in implementing employment programs and responding to the needs of jobseekers and employers.
The panel formally recognized the nine nominated PESOs that advanced to the final deliberation: PESO Province of Northern Samar, PESO Hilongos, PESO Ormoc, PESO Merida, PESO Daram, PESO Catbalogan, PESO Alangalang, PESO Tanauan, and PESO Tacloban.
PESOMAEV President Norman Victor M. Ordiz expressed his appreciation to the participating PESOs for their commitment to continuously improving public employment services. He noted that the annual search not only recognizes exemplary performance but also provides an opportunity for PESOs to learn from one another and adopt practices that can strengthen employment facilitation across Eastern Visayas.
The results of the regional evaluation will be finalized following the completion of the deliberation process and in accordance with the guidelines of the 2025 Search for Best Public Employment Service Office. Successful regional nominees will represent Eastern Visayas in the national Search for Best PESO during the National PESO Congress.
