I am Shane L. Loberio, 22 years old, from Barangay Cag-Abaca, Catarman, Northern Samar, and I have learned to build on the foundations of my success by turning life’s challenges around. To me, life has always felt like a test of endurance.
Finding a good job was extremely difficult. My days were spent either searching for work or accepting whatever was available—as long as it could provide for my family’s basic needs.
I lived a life of “isang kahig, isang tuka,” working hard just to get through each day. Despite these hardships, I held on to a strong determination to change my destiny.
How the PESO Program Guided Me Toward Success and Self-Reliance
My life took a significant turn when I discovered the Public Employment Service Office (PESO). With the encouragement of Ate Angelica, a staff member in our municipality, I gathered the courage to seek help from the PESO Office of Northern Samar. The support I received there connected me to a job—an opportunity that became a true turning point in my life.
The job I obtained through PESO helped me discover my true potential. It taught me the value of every peso earned and every opportunity given. Through this experience, I was able to support my family while improving my professional skills and self-confidence. The journey was not easy, but persistence opened the door I had long been searching for. Through every struggle, I grew stronger and more determined.
Today, I am proud to be an employee of NOVO, where I steadily worked my way from the bottom up.
My testimony is living proof of the power of the PESO program to open doors for dreamers. It serves as a reminder that even in difficult times, faith, perseverance, and hard work can lead to a better and more promising tomorrow.
