𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐎𝐂 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 – To reinforce partnerships and strengthen collaboration at the local level, the Department of Labor and Employment – West Leyte Field Office (DOLE-WLFO) conducted a series of courtesy calls and visits to some Local Chief Executives (LCEs) in the third, fourth, and fifth districts of Leyte.

Led by DOLE-WLFO Head, Rosilito T. Ygaña, the team visited the municipalities of Bato and Inopacan on April 20, Palompon and Tabango on April 23, Mahaplag and Abuyog on April 27. They also went to Isabel on April 28, Leyte on April 30, and Baybay on May 5, with the aim of enhancing the delivery of labor and employment services through coordinated efforts with local government leadership.

Joining the visits were Mr. Giovani G. Olo, and Atty. Nolito M. Quilang, President and Vice President of Public Employment Service Office Managers Association of Western Leyte (PESOMAWEL), whose presence highlighted the strong partnership between DOLE and PESO in promoting employment facilitation initiatives within the region.

Main point of the discussions was PESO Institutionalization, emphasizing its importance in ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of employment services at the local level. DOLE underscored the need for LGUs to institutionalize PESO through the enactment of local ordinances, allocation of sufficient resources, and the strengthening of operations to better serve jobseekers and employers.

The Local Chief Executives expressed their support and appreciation for the continued guidance provided by DOLE, recognizing the vital role of PESO in addressing unemployment and improving access to job opportunities within their localities.

Through these engagements, DOLE-WLFO and the leadership of PESOMAWEL reaffirm their commitment to sustain strong partnerships with LGUs to ensure that programs remain accessible and responsive. By working closely with local leaders toward the full institutionalization of PESO, DOLE-WLFO continues to deliver quality employment services across Western part Leyte.
