𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐄𝐒𝐎𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐏𝐎𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐄𝐒𝐎 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬

𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐎, 𝐋𝐄𝐘𝐓𝐄 – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 recognized exemplary Public Employment Service Offices and Job Placement Offices during the Search for Best PESO (SBP) Regional Awards, held on September 11, 2025, at Fan’s Hotel, Palo, Leyte. The event celebrated the achievements of PESOs and JPOs that demonstrated outstanding performance in employment facilitation, program implementation, and stakeholder engagement across Eastern Visayas.

This year’s Regional Winners were PESO Daram for the 4th Class Municipality category, PESO Hilongos for the 3rd Class Municipality category, PESO Catbalogan for the 2nd Class Municipality category, and the Province of Northern Samar for the 2nd Class Province category. These awardees were hailed for their innovative practices and commitment to expanding employment opportunities and services to their constituents.

Meanwhile, several PESOs and JPOs were also named Regional Finalists for their exemplary contributions. These include PESO Merida and PESO Silago under the 5th Class Municipality category, PESO Capoocan under the 4th Class Municipality category, and PESO Carigara under the 2nd Class Municipality category. PESO Ormoc was recognized as a finalist in the Component City category, while the Province of Samar was a finalist for the 1st Class Province category. In addition, Eastern Samar State University-Borongan was acknowledged as a finalist under the Job Placement Office category.

In his congratulatory message, Regional Director Atty. Dax B. Villaruel commended the awardees for their service to their communities. He emphasized that PESOs and JPOs play a crucial role in shaping the future of the region’s workforce.

“Behind every successful jobseeker is a PESO or JPO that has worked tirelessly to connect people with opportunities. These awardees have become champions of hope and change in their localities. Their recognition today is a challenge for us to continue raising the bar in public employment service. With their dedication, we are confident that Eastern Visayas will remain a strong partner in advancing inclusive, sustainable, and decent work for all.”

With their victory, the Regional Winners will carry the banner of Eastern Visayas in the National Search for Best PESO Awards, showcasing the region’s best practices and innovations in bridging the gap between jobseekers and employment opportunities.
