Tacloban City – The ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ ๐ถ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ paid a courtesy visit to the ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ on February 23, 2026, as part of its sustained efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in combating illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons.
Led by Officer-in-Charge Regional Director ๐๐๐๐. ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ ๐. ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ผ-๐๐ด๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐บ, together with Chief Labor and Employment Officer ๐๐๐๐. ๐ ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐น, the DMW key officials met the Regional Prosecutor ๐๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ, who welcomed the initiative to further enhance coordination in advancing the protection of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.
During the meeting, RD Velayo-Agliam and Atty. Basal formally introduced DMW as an agency and highlighted its core programs and services. Also central to the discussion was the strengthening of convergence initiatives under the Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) campaign.
Moreover, RD Velayo-Agliam also expressed DMW RO VIIIโs intent to be actively engaged as a member of the Regional Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (RIACAT), reinforcing the agencyโs commitment in addressing illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons in Eastern Visayas.
This engagement reaffirmed the shared resolve of DMW RO VIII and the Regional Prosecution Office to intensify collaborative efforts in protecting the rights, welfare, and security of OFWs and their families.
