Joined by Assistant Regional Director ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ผ๐ป ๐ . ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฎ, ๐๐๐๐. ๐ ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐น, Chief of the Welfare and Reintegration Services Division (WRSD), and members of the regional team, the delegation formally introduced the Departmentโs key programs and services and strengthened coordination with the Provincial Government of Biliran.
The highlight of the visit was a formal request for support in providing office space for DMW within the province. Once established, a dedicated DMW office in Biliran will make services more accessibleโallowing OFWs and their families to seek assistance, welfare support, reintegration guidance, and other interventions without having to travel far.
The DMW team also engaged with the ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ด๐๐ป๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ป๐น๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป, where an orientation on DMW programs and protective mechanisms was conducted. The discussion underscored the shared commitment of both the provincial leadership and DMW to safeguard the rights, welfare, and long-term reintegration of migrant workers.
The Provincial Government welcomed the initiative, signaling strong local support for policies and programs that benefit OFWsโoften referred to as the countryโs modern-day heroes. With strengthened collaboration and local backing, DMW-ROVIII looks forward to expanding its presence in Biliran and delivering faster, more responsive, and more accessible services to OFWs and their families.
